Legal Team

Natalie Maksin is responsible for the Moonbeam Capital Investments, LLC’s legal affairs, providing legal counsel for the company’s acquisitions, financings, structuring, commercial contracts, tax matters, research, and general legal and business advice to the company’s executive management team.

Prior to joining MCI, Natalie Maksin practiced tax law from 2003 to 2010 at Weil, Gotshal and Manges, LLP, where she advised domestic and international clients on structuring of real estate transactions. Prior to Weil, Gotshal and Manges, LLP, Mrs. Maksin was a manager in the PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP’s assurance business advisory services group.

Mrs. Maksin is an adjunct professor at the City University of New York where she teaches taxation. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association and American Institute of Certified Public Accountancy. Mrs. Maksin is admitted to the Bar in New York and Connecticut, and the Supreme Court of the United States. She holds CPA licenses in New York and Maryland.

Mrs. Maksin earned an LL.M. from the New York University Law School, a J.D. (the Order of Coif, cum laude) from the Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School, and a Bachelor of Science (magna cum laude) from the New York University Stern School of Business.

Jacqueline S. Ackerman joined Moonbeam Capital Investments, LLC (“MCI”) in 2014 and serves as Senior Deputy Chief Legal Officer, providing legal counsel regarding acquisitions, leases, commercial contracts, property management, development and operations. In 2012, Vegas Inc., Las Vegas’s leading business publication, selected her to receive its Top Lawyers award in two categories – Real Estate and Business.

Prior to joining MCI, Ms. Ackerman practiced law in her own firm from 2008 to 2014. From 2005 to 2008, she served as General Counsel of SURE Development, where she directed the legal affairs of affiliated companies involved in real estate development, brokerage and construction. Previously, Ms. Ackerman practiced law with several prestigious law firms in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, and served in an executive position with Nevada’s largest homebuilder – Lewis Homes – until it was acquired by KB Homes.

Ms. Ackerman is a member of the State Bars of Nevada and California. She is a Past President of the Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys, the largest specialty bar association in Nevada, and is a current and past officer and director of other local nonprofit organizations.

Ms. Ackerman earned her J.D. degree from Harvard Law School and her Bachelor of Arts degree (summa cum laude) from Dartmouth College. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Vicki Sechler has over 10 years of broad based commercial real estate experience including leasing, property management, lease administration and paralegal services. She serves as Senior Leasing Paralegal of Moonbeam Capital Investments, LLC (“MCI”) where her responsibilities include the drafting, review, editing and distribution of all retail leases, amendments and other ancillary documents of MCI’s commercial real estate portfolio as well as overseeing the lease administration department.

Prior to joining MCI, Vicki was Senior Real Estate Paralegal and Property Manager of Altus Real Estate Advisors, LLC, working directly with over 100 national and local tenants and handling all aspects of paralegal services, lease administration and management for 14 retail and mixed use properties in the southeastern United States. Vicki also served as Commercial Real Estate Paralegal of New South Commercial Properties, Inc., working directly with the developer and outside legal counsel overseeing all legal aspects of the development process of retail properties, including lease and contract drafting and revisions, the due diligence process, title work and closing from the purchase of land through the construction, permanent financing, leasing and sale of each development.

Vicki received an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University and obtained her Paralegal Certificate from Emory University. She also holds a Georgia Real Estate Broker’s License.
