THE ASSEMBLY
STATE OF NEW YORK
ALBANY
October 13, 2020
Dear New York Park Service Superintendent:
As the Assemblyman representing the 45th A.D., I recently had the pleasure of touring Moonbeam Gateway Marina in the Jamaica Bay Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area and viewing the improvements made under the direction of Steven Maksin, Chief Executive Officer of the Moonbeam group of companies. Many of my southern Brooklyn constituents are boaters at Moonbeam and they encouraged me to see these enhancements for myself. Mr. Maksin and I toured the Marina in one of the new golf carts that Moonbeam purchased to transport boaters between the parking lot and the docks. He showed me the new wave attenuators and bathrooms that Moonbeam installed, pointed out the areas where Moonbeam removed decades’ worth of debris that had accumulated under prior management, and told me about the installation of WiFi and upgrades to the Marina’s electrical system. I had the opportunity to speak with a number of boaters during my visit, many of whom have been patrons of the Marina for years. All of them were enthusiastic about the improvements to the Marina and the change of management. It was a great experience to see how Moonbeam has enhanced the quality of life in the community and provided boaters with an attractive, state-of-the-art Marina right here in southern Brooklyn.
Sincerely,
Steven H. Cymbrowitz
Member of Assembly
