GameTime, an operator of full-service family entertainment centers, is planning to build a ninth location in Ocoee.
The new 25,000-square-foot center will be near West Oaks Mall and is set to open by the second quarter of 2017. The company recently announced it would also be building a 35,000-square-foot location at the $120 million-$150 million, 300,000-square-foot One Daytona complex across from the Daytona International Speedway.
“The decision to have a presence in Ocoee is a result of understanding that the entire area includes residents that serve Orlando. We are a local business first and foremost,” said Mike Abecassis, owner and CEO of GameTime, in a prepared statement.

The Ocoee location will be built to resemble other locations that have a mixture of restaurants/sports bar, arcades, amusement rides and more. For example, the company’s Miami location is two stories and 36,000 square feet, and has multiple ride-simulators such as one themed after the Indy 500, arcade games, carnival attractions like a Down The Clown midway game, billiards tables, dart boards and more.
The attraction will join a series of tenants that have been breathing new life into the mall, including a 70,000-square-foot Xerox Corp. (NYSE: XRX) customer service center for SunPass expected to create more than 500 jobs, replacing the vacant Sears anchor space.
